On August 27, 2008, Crime Stoppers of Houston was honored to receive a generous gift in the amount of $250,000 from the Harris County District Attorney's Office. District Attorney Kenneth Magidson presented the check to Katherine Cabaniss, Executive Director of Crime Stoppers of Houston. Crime Stoppers will use the funds to support its Cash Rewards Program, which has paid more than $6 million since 1981 for accurate crime tips. Mr. Magidson expressed his continued interest in the use of Asset Forfeiture funds for official purposes, including funding non-profit agencies that support law enforcement. Crime Stoppers is honored to receive the funding in recognition of its productivity and success.
